A COMPANY THAT BUILDS NEIGHBOURHOODS AND FAMILIES;NOT JUST HOMES- A FOCUS ON OUR ENVIRONMENT

This week has been very heavily impacted by the wildfires in Washington USA, which has directly impacted the environment here in Burnaby. We have spent the week breathing in thick smog of large particles at 2.5mp which has been difficult to breathe and have caused some irritation and has further increased stress on our emotional and physical selves.

Environmental Canada issued health advisories major parts of BC; including Burnaby. Coupled with the stressors of Covid-19, this week has been especially tough for residents of Burnaby and Vancouver. Covid-19 cases continue to rise; and although the real estate market is more hot than ever, this week has been very difficult in terms of the environment.

This smog has had a major impact on the environment and how during a pandemic where the outdoors is our only option; have been forced to stay indoors. This has had a major impact on our mental, and physical health as well as the negative impact on our environment. The star published, “Office buildings, hospitals and seniors’ homes could be nudged to improve air filtration systems. People we already know are at greater risk, such as those with asthma or heart disease, pregnant women, and individuals with Type 2 diabetes, could be urged to invest in portable air cleaners for their homes.” Does this mean offices and hospitals will need to improve filtration systems to clean our thicker air particles as well as viruses?  What’s next? What will the future hold especially economically? According to The Province,” On the website World Air Quality, Vancouver was ranked as having the second worst air quality of any major city in the world, behind Portland, Oregon where deadly wildfires have scorched nearly 4,4700 square-kilometres of land throughout the state and displaced tens of thousands of people in what officials have called an unprecedented disaster. Government of British Columbia rated Vancouver as the worst air quality.

How is our company trying to Make a Change in the Environment?

At Bima Properties Group, we firmly believe that protecting Burnaby, and doing our part to reduce greenhouse emissions will keep families opting to purchase a #bimabuilt home. Its important for us to not only build quality projects but protect our neighbourhoods and parks so they surpass and stand time. This is important to actually build neighbourhoods and strengthen them even further. We want to be known in the coming years as a company that builds neighbourhoods and families, not just homes. That can only be achieved when we work together with our municipalities, to strengthen and build while reducing greenhouse emissions. Wildfires are growing every year. It is scientifically in relation to the greenhouse emissions and how this is having an impact on global warming. We at www.bimaproperties.com state that a green home is built with a much larger home in mind—planet Earth.

How is a #bimabuilt home Eco-Friendly?

We all know that the “guts” of a home include the forms, concrete, framing and use of beams and other “nuts-and-bolts.” Our homes are made of environmentally friendly and locally sourced. All of the framing supplies our contractors use are Canadian.

  • Green homes maximize the resources offered by a home’s surroundings, without harming them, and they also take advantage of the local climate. For instance, the Lakeview 2 Duplex; they face the south to maximize solar heat gain.
  • Materials. The physical materials used to construct a home are locally sourced, biodegradable, non-toxic, repurposed, and/or renewable.
  • Energy consumption. Green homes use energy-efficient appliances and strategic insulation/ventilation methods to reduce artificial heating and cooling. HVAC keeps warm heat in at the Lakeview 2.
  • Water usage. To conserve water, a green home uses efficient plumbing fixtures or a rainwater recapture system. The landscaping use low maintenance plants which will not need too much water.

We at Bima Properties Group, choose to keep the importance of our environment, neighbourhoods and communities first. Our goal of reducing emissions from constructions projects will continue to stay vital in the many coming years and will support local businesses who carry the same values
